2020-11-20 16:00

Since the Notice of Interim Measures of Two Separate Nucleic Acid Tests (PCR) for China-Bound Flights Departing From New Zealand (the Notice) ,which took effect on 7 November 2020, passengers have been able to board their direct flights to China from New Zealand using the green health QR code with "HS" mark (for the Chinese nationals) or with "HDC" mark (for foreign nationals) granted after they completed nucleic acid tests and met the requirement outlined in the Notice.

The Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in New Zealand have been regularly reviewing the current procedures. As Christmas and the New Year holidays are approaching, we encourage you to read the following and prepare for your trip accordingly:

1. Please pay attention to the operating hours of testing institutions on holidays.

It is understood that most testing institutions in New Zealand will be operating on regular basis. However, clinics and GPs may be closed. If you have any plan to travel on Christmas and the New Year holidays, please be aware of the operating hours of those sampling and testing institutions, and the timeframe of getting your test reports from the testing institutions. Please consult with your local clinic and testing institution in advance for detailed information.

2. Please complete your Request Form based on your test results with correct information .

According to the Notice, while the IgM blood test is not available, travellers who have completed the two separate nucleic acid tests, when completing the Request Form for health QR code online, please choose "Have not received the COVID-19 serum IgM antibody test" as shown on the picture below.

You must upload both test reports prepared by testing institutions at the same time and carefully check the information shown on the reports to make sure that it is complete. To avoid any delay in processing your request, it is also important to make sure that your personal information, such as full name, date of birth and gender, is correctly entered. When you enter the collection date of your specimen, please use the date when your first specimen is collected (the earliest date shown on both reports).

Also, please be reminded that the number of your passport or other valid document for international travelling should be entered correctly. It is strongly recommended that you provide a New Zealand mobile phone number, in case we need to contact you for further information.

3. Please make your request in time.

Please make your request for the green health QR code with 'HS' mark (for the Chinese nationals), or health declaration form with 'HDC' mark (for foreign nationals) as soon as you have received both reports of negative test result, in order to receive the green health QR code before going to the airport and avoid any delay in check-in process.

To ensure timely review and approval of your request, please do lodge your request during the regular office hours. The Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in New Zealand have dedicated staffs available on business days, weekends and public holidays, we will get back to you as soon as possible.
