2017/05/11
On April 12, 2017, a promotion event for the 'China International Alcoholic Beverage Expo, 2017' was held in Auckland by the Ministry of Commerce, PRC and Guizhou Province. Nearly 100 people attended the event, including China's Ambassador to New Zealand, Wang Lutong; Chinese Consul General in Auckland, Xu Erwen; officials from Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development Limited and representatives from the New Zealand business community.
In his speech, Ambassador Wang Lutong noted that the China International Alcoholic Beverage Expo has become a brand exhibition with Guizhou style, Chinese characteristics and at an international level. With its abundant products, rich brewery culture and tradition, Guizhou Province possesses obvious advantages in wine and spirits trading with New Zealand. New Zealand is a famous wine producing country and has become China's ninth largest supplier of imported wine, while China is the fifth largest export market for New Zealand wine. The upgrading of the FTA between China and New Zealand will further promote wine and spirits trading and exchanges between the two countries. Ambassador Wang encouraged New Zealand business people to actively participate in the China International Alcoholic Beverage Expo and wished that the Expo be a complete success.
